How it works

What the agent does when a customer churns or is saved.

When a customer churns, downgrades or is saved, the agent rebuilds the timeline and shows when the first warning appeared and what was done.

  1. 01

A churn or save is recorded.

Trig starts on churns and downgrades the CRM records, and on saves of accounts in your top quarter by value or with a save plan.

  2. 02

    Agent gathers data & evidence.

The outcome record and stated reason, health and risk history, save plans, 12 months of usage, calls, emails, tickets, and the sales handoff.

  3. 03

Agent builds the churn and save analysis.

Rebuilds a dated timeline, measures the days from first warning to first action, and sets the stated reason beside the evidence.

  4. 04

    You review and decide.

Write the fixes, edit the findings, and decide what to take to Product, Sales, and onboarding.

Configuration

How this agent manages churn and save analysis.

The data and records the agent needs access to in order to deliver the work, and where you want it delivered.

How this agent manages churn and save analysis.

  • What it reads

The CRM outcome record with value before and after, dates, and the stated reason, and the account’s health and risk history with save plans. Calls, emails, support tickets, usage, and the sales handoff add context where available.

  • Where the work lands

Full analysis on Trig, with the account’s timeline and usage chart, delivered as a direct message in your internal chat, such as Slack, to the head of customer success.

  • Your decisions

Your team writes the fixes and decides which teams hear the findings. Trig sets out what the records show and never names a person as the cause. Agents access only records you allow and carry out only actions you approve.

Output

What the agent hands your team.

One account from signature to outcome, with the stated reason beside what the records show, ready to read in under three minutes.

  1. 1Cause. The reason given beside what the records show.
  2. 2Timeline. Every dated event from signature to outcome.
  3. 3Early warning. Usage and health, against the first warning and first action.
  4. 4Evidence. The records behind each cause.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is a churn analysis agent?

It is a Trig agent set up to explain why a customer left or stayed. Agents can be fully customized to work based on your own unique churn signals, conditions, and situations. In this configuration, the agent starts when the CRM records a churn or downgrade, or a save that meets your rules, and drafts the analysis within 10 working days. The agent rebuilds the account’s timeline, measures how long the team took to act on the first warning, and sets the customer’s stated reason beside the evidence.

How does Trig find why a customer left?

Agents can be configured to compare what a customer said with what the records show. In this template, the stated reason comes from the CRM field, calls, emails, or tickets. The cause is what the records show drove the outcome, named from your team’s list of churn reasons or a default list. A budget cut counts as outside your team’s control only when there was no earlier problem the team could have acted on. Where the records support no cause, the agent says so.

What does the agent prepare for my team?

In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a one-page analysis for each churn or downgrade, and for saves on accounts in the top quarter of your book by value or with a save plan, that meet your targeting conditions. It opens with the value lost or saved, the days from first warning to first action, and the stated reason beside the cause found. Then it gives a dated timeline, what was tried, whether what was sold was delivered, and two or three findings for Product, Sales, or onboarding.

Will the agent contact the customer or change the CRM?

No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. In this template, the agent reads your records, sends the analysis only to the head of customer success, and changes nothing in the CRM. It never names a customer success manager as the cause, and your team writes the fixes.

What does the agent need access to?

The CRM outcome record with value before and after, key dates, and the stated reason, and the account’s health and risk history with its save plans. Call recordings, emails, support tickets, product usage, and the sales handoff and onboarding records add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.

Can we change how the template works?

Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.

How long does it take to set up this template?

A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your churns and saves.
