How it works

How the agent reviews your team’s results.

The agent sorts your team’s closed deals by why they were won or lost, with findings for Product, Marketing, and Enablement.

  1. 01

    Trig collects the closed deals.

In the first week after each quarter closes, Trig collects every deal your team won, lost, or closed with no decision.

  2. 02

    Agent gathers data & evidence.

Amount, close date, lead source, competitor, and recorded reason for each deal, with call transcripts, customer emails, competitor notes, and Product’s roadmap.

  3. 03

    Agent builds the win-loss review.

Groups deals by reason with count and value, notes where the recorded reason differs from the customer’s words, and drafts findings for other teams.

  4. 04

    You review and decide.

Decide what the team changes, edit the findings, and choose what to pass to Product, Marketing, and Enablement.

Configuration

How this agent manages quarterly win-loss reviews.

The data and records the agent needs access to in order to deliver the work, and where you want it delivered.

How this agent manages quarterly win-loss reviews.

  • What it reads

The deals your team closed in the quarter, with amount, close date, lead source, competitor, and recorded reason. Call transcripts, customer emails, competitor notes, your reason list, and Product’s roadmap add context where available.

  • Where the work lands

Full review on Trig, with findings for each team, delivered as a short note in your internal chat, such as Slack, to the sales manager.

  • Your decisions

Your team decides what to change and what to pass to Product, Marketing, and Enablement. Trig leaves a blank section for your changes and names no account manager. Agents access only records you allow and carry out only actions you approve.

Output

What the agent hands your team.

Every closed deal sorted by why it was won or lost, with the customer’s own words where they exist, ready to read in ten minutes.

  1. 1Reasons. Each deal grouped by why it closed, with count and value.
  2. 2Competitors. Each competitor’s record, in customers’ words.
  3. 3Gaps. Capabilities that cost deals, with count and value.
  4. 4Findings. What each team should hear, with no account manager named.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is a win-loss review agent?

It is a Trig agent set up to show why your sales team won and lost deals each quarter. Agents can be fully customized to work based on your own unique win-loss signals, conditions, and situations. In this configuration, the agent runs in the first week after each quarter closes, with a monthly tally on the first working day of each month. The agent sorts every closed deal by reason, sets the recorded reason beside the customer’s words, and drafts findings for other teams.

How does Trig know why a deal was won or lost?

Agents can be configured to compare the reason recorded in the CRM with what the customer said on calls and in emails. In this template, reasons come from your team’s own list or a default list, such as price or budget, missing capability, or competitor chosen. A deal with no recorded reason and no customer words is marked unstated. Patterns are compared only when each side has at least five deals, and a competitor counts only when a customer named it.

What does the agent prepare for my team?

In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a quarterly review of the closed deals that meet your targeting conditions. It opens with deals closed by outcome and the win rate by count and value. Then it groups deals by reason, shows each competitor’s record and the capabilities that cost deals in customers’ words, and lists findings for Product, Marketing, Enablement, and the sales process owner. It ends with a blank section, one prompt per finding, for the changes you decide on.

Will the agent contact customers or name account managers?

No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. In this template, the agent reads closed deals and never names, ranks, or judges an account manager, even when it cites an internal message. It never invents a quote or a reason, and it gives Product’s roadmap only as Product’s plan, never as a promise.

What does the agent need access to?

The deals your team closed in the quarter, with amount, close date, lead source, competitor, and recorded reason. Call transcripts, customer emails, competitor notes, your team’s reason list, and Product’s roadmap add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.

Can we change how the template works?

Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.

How long does it take to set up this template?

A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your team’s closed deals.
