Frequently asked questions.
What is an adoption gap agent?
It is a Trig agent set up to find what each account bought but doesn’t use. Agents can be fully customized to work based on your own unique adoption signals, conditions, and situations. In this configuration, the agent checks each account you own every month, and again 14 days before a business review. The agent ranks the gaps by what matters for the renewal, names the likely cause of the biggest one, and suggests one next move.
How does Trig know what an account isn’t using?
Agents can be configured to compare usage with what the account bought and why. In this template, the agent measures seats, modules, and integrations against the purchase and the reasons in the sales handoff or success plan. Seat use is weekly active users against seats licensed, and under 60% marks seats the customer may cut at renewal. Unused means no use in the period the data covers, and a feature the data doesn’t track is reported as not measured.
What does the agent prepare for my team?
In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a one-page report for each account that meets your targeting conditions. It opens with seat use, modules owned and used, contract value, renewal date, and the 12-week usage trend. Then it shows the biggest gap with its evidence and likely cause, up to three other gaps in one line each, one next move, and what changed since last month.
Will the agent contact the customer or pitch more seats?
No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. In this template, the agent reads your records, drafts no message, gives no price, and changes no CRM field. The report goes only to the customer success manager who owns the account, and your team decides which gap to work.
What does the agent need access to?
Product usage for the account, and what it bought: seats, modules, integrations, contract value, and renewal date. The sales handoff, success plan, support tickets, and training records add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.
Can we change how the template works?
Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.
How long does it take to set up this template?
A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your accounts’ adoption gaps.
