Frequently asked questions.
What is a renewal brief agent?
It is a Trig agent set up to brief each renewal before the renewal conversation. In this configuration, the agent starts the brief 90 days before the customer’s notice date and refreshes it at 60 days. The agent judges readiness, sets out the value case in the customer’s own words, maps who signs and who holds the budget, and prices up to three renewal options.
How does Trig judge whether a renewal is ready?
Agents can be configured to judge readiness from the account’s own records. In this template, the brief says ready, ready with work, at risk, or crisis, from five tests: value the customer has acknowledged, adoption over the term, the relationship, open friction such as escalations, and the commercial position. Each test shows its evidence. Missing data is named as a gap, and Trig raises only risks the records show.
What information does Trig bring together for a customer renewal?
In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a renewal brief for each account that meets your targeting conditions. It gives the readiness assessment, the value case with who said what and when, the signer, budget owner, and sponsor, and seats in use against seats licensed. It also prices up to three options, sets out budget timing and what happens if nobody acts, and drafts a gap plan with an owner and date for each weak area.
Will the agent contact the customer or offer a discount?
No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. In this template, the agent prices options from the contract and price list, shows no discount, and changes no CRM field. The brief goes to your renewals manager and customer success manager, and your team decides what to offer.
What does the agent need access to?
The contract, with its terms, price, and notice date, the CRM account, renewal, and contacts, and the price list. Product usage, the success plan, calls, emails, support tickets, and past renewals add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.
Can we change how the template works?
Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.
How long does it take to set up this template?
A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your renewals 90 days from notice.
