How it works

How the agent tracks renewal progress.

The agent sets every renewal you own against its notice date, with what slipped, what is due this week, and who owns it.

  1. 01

    Trig checks the renewal dates.

Each morning, Trig checks every renewal you own against the date the customer must give notice by, with the whole book on Mondays.

  2. 02

    Agent gathers data & evidence.

Contract terms and notice dates, CRM stage and owner, the renewal stages your team has set, quote and signature status, emails, and the calendar.

  3. 03

    Agent builds the renewal timeline.

Places each renewal by notice date, flags slipped stages with days late, and lists what’s due this week and who owns it.

  4. 04

    You review and decide.

Decide what to act on first, chase each slipped stage, and escalate any renewal that is still red close to its notice date.

Configuration

How this agent manages every renewal’s notice date.

The data and records the agent needs access to in order to deliver the work, and where you want it delivered.

How this agent manages every renewal’s notice date.

  • What it reads

The contract for each renewal, with its notice date and auto-renew terms, the CRM renewal record with stage and owner, and the renewal stages your team has set. Quote and signature status, emails, and the calendar add context where available.

  • Where the work lands

Full timeline on Trig, delivered each morning as a direct message in your internal chat, such as Slack, to the renewals manager who owns the renewals.

  • Your decisions

Your team decides what to act on first and who picks up each slipped stage. Trig reports where each renewal stands and changes no owner, stage, or CRM field. Agents access only records you allow and carry out only actions you approve.

Output

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is a renewal tracking agent?

It is a Trig agent set up to track every renewal against its notice date. Agents can be fully customized to work based on your own unique renewal signals, conditions, and situations. In this configuration, the agent checks every renewal you own each morning, with the whole book on Mondays. The agent places each renewal by its notice date, flags stages that slipped, and lists what is due this week and who owns it.

How does Trig know a renewal stage has slipped?

Agents can be configured to compare each renewal with the stages and due dates your team has set. In this template, a stage has slipped when its due date passes with no record that it happened, such as an order form never sent. A stage that happened, even late, is left out. Without set stages, Trig uses default dates counted back from the renewal date, and labels them as defaults.

What does the agent prepare for my team?

In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a daily view of the renewals you own in the CRM, for the renewals that meet your targeting conditions. It leads with any renewal close to its notice date that is still marked red, then shows what has slipped, what is due this week, and any renewal with no owner. It also passes requests for more seats to the account manager, and lists the whole book by notice date.

Will the agent contact the customer or change a renewal’s owner?

No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. In this template, the agent reads contracts, CRM records, and calendars, and leaves every owner, stage, and CRM field as it is. It never estimates how likely a renewal is to be won. The view goes to the renewals manager, and your team decides who acts on each renewal.

What does the agent need access to?

The contract for each renewal, with its notice date, auto-renew terms, and signer, the CRM renewal records with stage and owner, and the renewal stages your team has set, with their due dates. Quote and signature status, emails, and the calendar add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.

Can we change how the template works?

Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.

How long does it take to set up this template?

A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your renewal book.
