Frequently asked questions.
What is a renewal quote agent?
It is a Trig agent set up to draft renewal quotes and order forms. Agents can be fully customized to work based on your own unique renewal paperwork signals, conditions, and situations. In this configuration, the agent starts when a renewal reaches the proposal stage, and again when the customer sends paperwork back. The agent checks what happens if nobody acts, drafts each quote line traced to its source, builds the order form on your standard terms, and proposes CRM updates after signature.
How does Trig know each price is right?
Agents can be configured to trace every figure to its source. In this template, each quote line names its contract line, its price list line, and the decision your renewals manager recorded. With no decision recorded, the quote is drafted at the contract’s price increase and labeled as a default to confirm. A price that can’t be traced, such as an unrecorded discount, is left out of the draft and named for you.
What does the agent prepare for my team?
In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a draft quote and order form for each renewal that meets your targeting conditions. It shows what happens if nobody acts, each quote line with its sources, and the order form with any term that differs from your template. It flags mismatches with the CRM or with what the customer was told, sorts each change in returned paperwork as standard, a fallback Legal has approved, needs Legal, commercial, or blocking, and proposes CRM updates after signature.
Will the agent send paperwork without my approval?
No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. The quote and order form are left as drafts for you to review, edit, and approve before Trig sends anything for you. Once you approve the order form, Trig sends it for signature through DocuSign. The agent adds no discount or price your team hasn’t recorded, and updates the CRM only once you approve.
What does the agent need access to?
The contract with all its terms, your recorded pricing decision, the price list, and the order form template with your standard terms. The CRM opportunity, approval rules, customer emails, Legal’s approved fallback terms, and any returned paperwork add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.
Can we change how the template works?
Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.
How long does it take to set up this template?
A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your renewal quotes and order forms.
