How it works

How the agent reviews contract changes.

The agent sorts every change against your template and drafts the request to Legal for your review.

  1. 01

    Trig finds the returned document.

Trig picks up the customer’s marked-up contract when it lands on one of your open deals in the CRM.

  2. 02

    Agent gathers data & evidence.

Your contract templates, Legal’s approved positions, the product knowledge base, the proposal, the CRM deal, and emails with the customer.

  3. 03

    Agent builds the contract review.

Sorts each change by class, checks each product commitment, compares price and term, and drafts the request to Legal.

  4. 04

    You review, edit, and approve.

Edit and approve the request to Legal, and Trig sends it. You and Legal settle each change and the commercial terms.

Configuration

How this agent manages contract redlines.

The data and records the agent needs access to in order to deliver the work, and where you want it delivered.

How this agent manages contract redlines.

  • What it reads

The customer’s marked-up contract, your contract templates, Legal’s approved positions, and the product knowledge base. The proposal, the CRM deal, earlier contracts, and emails with the customer add context where available.

  • Where the work lands

Full contract review on Trig, delivered as a direct message in your internal chat, such as Slack, with the request to Legal drafted in your email provider, ready to send once approved.

  • Your decisions

Your team approves the request to Legal and negotiates the terms. Trig sorts each change and never gives legal advice. Agents access only records you allow and carry out only actions you approve.

Output

What the agent hands your team.

Every change in the customer’s paper, sorted against your template, with the request to Legal ready to edit and approve in just a few clicks.

  1. 1What needs Legal. The changes Legal must decide, with any blocking item first.
  2. 2Every change. Each clause compared with your template and Legal’s positions.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is a contract redline agent?

It is a Trig agent set up to check every marked-up contract a customer sends back. Agents can be fully customized to work based on your own unique contract signals, conditions, and situations. In this configuration, the agent works on marked-up contracts that land on your open deals. The agent sorts each change against your template and Legal’s approved positions, checks each product commitment, compares price and term with the proposal and CRM, and drafts the request to Legal for your approval.

How does Trig sort the customer’s changes?

Agents can be configured to compare the customer’s paper with your templates, Legal’s approved positions, and your product knowledge base. In this template, each change is sorted into one of five classes: standard, approved fallback, needs Legal, commercial, or blocking. Any change to liability, indemnity, or intellectual property needs Legal, even inside a fallback. A service, security, or data commitment the product doesn’t meet is blocking, and one the knowledge base doesn’t cover goes to a solutions engineer to confirm.

What does the agent prepare for my team?

In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a first pass on each marked-up contract that meets your targeting conditions. It opens with the changes found, changes by class, blocking items, and days to the close date. Then it lists every change, clause by clause, with their wording beside yours, any mismatch in price, term, or scope between the paper, proposal, and CRM, and the steps still open. It also drafts the request to Legal and notes for your reply to the customer.

Will the agent accept changes or reply to the customer without my approval?

No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. In this template, the request to Legal and the notes for your reply to the customer are drafts for you to edit and approve before Trig sends anything. The agent never says what a clause means legally, accepts a change, or suggests a concession.

What does the agent need access to?

The customer’s marked-up contract, your contract templates, Legal’s approved positions, and your product knowledge base. The proposal, the CRM deal, earlier contracts with the customer, and emails with the customer add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.

Can we change how the template works?

Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.

How long does it take to set up this template?

A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your contract redlines.
