Frequently asked questions.
What is a call logging agent?
It is a Trig agent set up to log every customer call in your CRM. In this configuration, the agent runs once each call’s transcript is ready, with a daily catch-up for calls still not logged. The agent logs the call with a short summary, sets the next step both sides agreed, and updates contacts only from what the call proves.
How does Trig know what to write?
Agents can be configured to read the call transcript and match the call to its account, deal, and contacts. In this template, the agent sets a next step only when one side proposed it and the other accepted, and otherwise writes “No agreed next step”. It fills a blank contact field only when the call clearly gives the value, and keeps any old value in the log. Anything it is unsure of is held as “needs a look” instead of written.
Can Trig update Salesforce after customer calls?
Yes. With Salesforce connected, this template writes a call record for each customer call that meets your targeting conditions. It logs the date, length, attendees, and recording link, a summary of about 120 words with decisions, objections, and who promised what, and the agreed next step. Each change shows the old value, the new value, and the moment in the call. Anything said about stage, amount, or close date is a note for you. Contact updates use only what the call proves, and you can set every write to wait for your approval.
Will the agent change the deal stage or close date?
No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. In this template, the agent writes only the call activity and its summary, contact fields and new contacts, and the deal’s next step and its date. Stage, amount, close date, and forecast category stay with your team, and no activity is deleted or overwritten. You can set every write to wait for your approval before Trig makes it.
What does the agent need access to?
The call transcript, the calendar event with its attendees, and the account, deal, contacts, and activity in the CRM. Attendees’ email signatures add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.
Can we change how the template works?
Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.
How long does it take to set up this template?
A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your customer calls.
