How it works

What the agent does when a customer call ends.

After each customer call, the agent adds what you promised to your to-do list, moves what changed, and lists what the customer owes you.

  1. 01

    The call’s transcript is ready.

Trig picks up each customer call once its transcript is ready, and catches any call it missed each evening.

  2. 02

    Agent gathers data & evidence.

The call transcript, the calendar event, your open tasks for the account, the deal and contacts in the CRM, and emails sent after the call.

  3. 03

    Agent updates your task list.

Adds a task for each promise you made, updates existing tasks when dates or scope change, and lists what the customer promised you.

  4. 04

    You review, edit, and approve.

Approve each task that is ready to close, and edit or revert any other change.

Configuration

How this agent manages your tasks after each call.

The data and records the agent needs access to in order to deliver the work, and where you want it delivered.

How this agent manages your tasks after each call.

  • What it reads

The call transcript, the calendar event, your open tasks, and the account, deal, and contacts in the CRM. Emails sent after the call add context where available.

  • Where the work lands

Full list of calls on Trig, delivered as a direct message in your internal chat, such as Slack, with tasks added or updated in your connected task list, such as the tasks in your CRM.

  • Your decisions

Your team approves each task before Trig closes it, and checks every other change. Trig adds only what was promised on the call, with the words behind it. Agents access only records you allow and carry out only actions you approve.

Output

What the agent hands your team.

Tasks added and updated from this week’s calls, with supporting quotes. Completed tasks wait for your approval before Trig closes them.

  1. 1What changed. What the week’s calls put on your list.
  2. 2Every change. Each task, with the words and the moment in the call behind it.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is a task update agent?

It is a Trig agent set up to keep your task list aligned with what you agreed on customer calls. In this configuration, the agent runs once each call’s transcript is ready, with a daily catch-up for calls it missed. The agent adds a task for each promise, updates existing tasks when dates or scope change, and lists what the customer promised you.

How does Trig turn customer call commitments into tasks?

Agents can be configured to read the call transcript and tell which side each speaker is on. In this template, a promise is something you said you would do, or something a colleague asked you to do on the call. The agent uses the due date stated on the call. If none was given, it sets the due date to two working days after the call and labels it as a default. What the customer promised is listed as waiting on them, and a colleague’s own promise is a note for you.

What task updates does Trig make after a customer call?

In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a task update for each customer call that meets your targeting conditions. It opens with the counts: tasks added, updated, ready to close, and items waiting on the customer. Each change carries the speaker’s words and the moment in the call. A task already on your list is updated instead of added twice, and a call where nothing was promised changes nothing.

Will the agent close a task without my approval?

No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. In this template, when the call confirms that a task is complete, the agent marks it ready to close. Trig closes it only after you approve. The agent works only on your own list, and it never deletes or reassigns a task or sends customer outreach. It sends the change summary to you in your internal chat.

What does the agent need access to?

The call transcript, the calendar event, your open tasks, and the account, deal, and contacts in the CRM. Emails sent after the call add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.

Can we change how the template works?

Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.

How long does it take to set up this template?

A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts updating your tasks after customer calls.
