Frequently asked questions.
What is a buying group agent?
It is a Trig agent set up to map who you know on each open deal. Agents can be fully customized to work based on your own unique deal signals, conditions, and situations. In this configuration, the agent checks each open deal you own every Monday morning, and again when a proposal goes out or contacts change. The agent lists the people on the deal, checks whether enough people are engaged for the deal’s size, notes who has left or joined, and suggests a path to each missing role.
How does Trig know if a deal has enough contacts?
Agents can be configured to count who has engaged with your team. In this template, a contact is engaged after a meeting, email, or call with you in the last 30 days. A deal above your team’s median won deal size needs four engaged contacts, and a deal in Commit or Best case also needs an engaged economic buyer and champion. Anyone not engaged in 30 days is listed as quiet since that date.
What does the agent prepare for my team?
In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a map for each deal that meets your targeting conditions. It opens with contacts engaged against contacts on record, the economic buyer and champion, and days since the economic buyer last engaged. Then it gives the gaps, any changes such as a champion leaving or someone senior joining, one line per person with their role and last engagement, and a path to each missing role. A person’s stance is shown only in their own words.
Will the agent contact anyone on the deal without my approval?
No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. In this template, the agent reads your records and changes no CRM field. When you ask, it drafts an introduction request for you to review, edit, and approve, and Trig sends it once approved. Each path goes through the people the records show, starting with your champion.
What does the agent need access to?
The deal’s contacts and their CRM roles, and the meetings, emails, and calls each person had with your team. Call transcripts, people data on job changes, and your team’s won deals add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.
Can we change how the template works?
Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.
How long does it take to set up this template?
A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your open deals.
