Frequently asked questions.
What is a forecast call prep agent?
It is a Trig agent set up to prepare you for each forecast call. Agents can be fully customized to work based on your own unique forecast signals, conditions, and situations. In this configuration, the agent runs the afternoon before your weekly forecast call, with extra runs at month and quarter end. The agent tests each deal you expect to close against the evidence your team requires, lists what slipped last week, and checks your pipeline against quota.
How does Trig know a deal’s evidence supports its category?
Agents can be configured to test each deal against the evidence your team requires. In this template, a Commit deal needs a budget owner engaged in the last 14 days, a documented decision and paper process, a close date agreed with the customer, and four or more engaged contacts on larger deals. A deal may slip when its close date has moved three or more times, it closes within 14 days with no customer activity in 10, or its next step is blank or past due.
What does the agent prepare for my team?
In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a forecast prep for the deals that meet your targeting conditions. It opens with quota, closed won, the remaining gap, totals by category, and Commit deals that do not meet the requirements. Then it tests each Commit deal, lists last week’s slips with the reason on record, flags deals that may slip, shows pipeline against quota at your own win rate, and turns this week’s decisions into questions.
Will the agent change a forecast category or contact a customer?
No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. In this template, the agent reads your deals and changes no CRM field. It never sets or suggests a forecast category or estimates the probability of winning a deal. Your team sets every category and decides which deals to call.
What does the agent need access to?
Your open deals in the CRM, with stage, forecast category, close-date history, and next steps, your quota and closed won, and your team’s stage rules. Customer calls, emails, and past forecast submissions add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.
Can we change how the template works?
Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.
How long does it take to set up this template?
A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your forecast calls.
