How it works

How the agent prepares a proposal.

The agent drafts up to three list-price options from the buyer’s stated needs and flags decisions left to your team.

  1. 01

    Trig starts the draft.

Trig spots each deal that moves to Proposal in the CRM and drafts its proposal, or drafts one whenever you ask.

  2. 02

    Agent gathers data & evidence.

Your price list, calls and emails on the deal, demo records, the product docs, your discount rules, and your proposal template.

  3. 03

    Agent builds the proposal draft.

Checks each item the buyer asked for, prices up to three options at list price, and flags what you must settle.

  4. 04

    You review, edit, and approve.

Settle the flags, decide any discount, then edit and approve the proposal for Trig to send.

Configuration

How this agent manages proposal drafts.

The data and records the agent needs access to in order to deliver the work, and where you want it delivered.

How this agent manages proposal drafts.

  • What it reads

The CRM deal, your price list and its rules, and the calls where the buyer said what they want to buy. Emails, demo records, product docs, discount rules, and your proposal and contract templates add context where available.

  • Where the work lands

Full draft on Trig, delivered as a link in your internal chat, such as Slack, with the proposal saved as a draft document and email, ready to send once approved.

  • Your decisions

Your team prices the deal, decides any discount, and approves the proposal. Trig drafts at list price and keeps any discount ask in notes only you see. Agents access only records you allow and carry out only actions you approve.

Output

What the agent hands your team.

Options at list price from what the buyer asked for, with what you must settle first, ready to edit and approve in a few clicks.

  1. 1Settle first. What you decide before it goes out, seen only by you.
  2. 2Requests. What the buyer asked for, in their words, with its source.
  3. 3Options. Each option at list price, with the math shown.
  4. 4Draft. The proposal waits as a draft for you to edit and approve.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is a proposal draft agent?

It is a Trig agent set up to draft proposal pricing options from what the buyer asked for. Agents can be fully customized to work based on your own unique deal signals, conditions, and situations. In this configuration, the agent drafts a proposal when a deal moves to Proposal in the CRM, or whenever you ask. The agent checks each item the buyer asked for against the product, prices up to three options at list price, and flags what you must settle before it goes out.

How does Trig know what to put in the proposal?

Agents can be configured to read your calls, emails, and demo records for what the buyer asked to buy. In this template, each item is checked against your product docs and demos. An item the product doesn’t cover is marked not deliverable, an item never demoed is marked not shown, and neither goes in as promised scope. Prices come only from your price list, with the math shown.

What does the agent prepare for my team?

In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a proposal draft for each deal that meets your targeting conditions. It opens with each option’s list total and the items you must settle. Notes only you see list anything not deliverable or not shown, terms the buyer requested, and any discount ask with who can approve it. Then comes the customer’s draft: their problem in their words, what is included, the options at list price, and your standard terms.

Will the agent send the proposal without my approval?

No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. The proposal is saved as a draft for you to review, edit, and approve before Trig sends it. It uses only prices from your price list, includes no discount, and lists any term the buyer asked for as requested until your team approves it.

What does the agent need access to?

The CRM deal, your price list and its rules, and the calls where the buyer said what they want to buy. Emails, demo records, product docs, discount rules, your proposal and contract templates, and earlier proposals add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.

Can we change how the template works?

Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.

How long does it take to set up this template?

A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your proposals.
