How it works

How the agent builds a mutual action plan.

The agent drafts a close plan that works back from the customer’s own date, with owners on both sides.

  1. 01

    Trig starts the plan.

Trig spots each deal that moves to Negotiation in the CRM and drafts its plan once, or whenever you ask.

  2. 02

    Agent gathers data & evidence.

The CRM deal and contacts, calls and emails with the customer, documents on how they buy, and your close plan template.

  3. 03

Agent builds the mutual action plan.

Works back from the customer’s date, sets owners on both sides, marks what is agreed, and drafts a version for your champion.

  4. 04

    You review, edit, and approve.

Agree the plan with your champion, then edit and approve their version, and Trig sends it.

Configuration

How this agent manages mutual action plans.

The data and records the agent needs access to in order to deliver the work, and where you want it delivered.

How this agent manages mutual action plans.

  • What it reads

The CRM deal with its close date and contacts, and the calls on the deal. Customer emails, documents on how they buy, and your team’s close plan template add context where available.

  • Where the work lands

Full plan on Trig, delivered as a link in your internal chat, such as Slack, with the champion’s version saved as a draft in your email provider, ready to send once approved.

  • Your decisions

Your team agrees the plan with the champion and approves what is shared. Trig marks a step agreed only when the customer confirmed it. Agents access only records you allow and carry out only actions you approve.

Output

What the agent hands your team.

Every step to the customer’s date, with owners on both sides and what they’ve agreed, ready to edit and approve in just a few clicks.

  1. 1Summary. The customer’s date, and the biggest gap in the plan.
  2. 2Plan. Every step, with owners on both sides and its status.
  3. 3Close date. Whether the CRM date fits the plan.
  4. 4Questions. What to ask your champion before the plan is shared.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is a mutual action plan agent?

It is a Trig agent set up to draft the close plan you agree with your customer. Agents can be fully customized to work based on your own unique deal signals, conditions, and situations. In this configuration, the agent drafts a plan once, when a deal moves to Negotiation, or whenever you ask. The agent works back from the customer’s own date, lists the steps with owners on both sides, marks which steps the customer has agreed, and checks that the CRM close date fits.

How does Trig know which steps the customer agreed?

Agents can be configured to read your calls and customer emails for steps, owners, and dates. In this template, a step counts as agreed only when its owner on the customer’s side confirmed the step and its date on a call or in writing, quoted with the source. Every other step is proposed. If the customer has given no date, the plan says every date in it is yours and asks you to get one.

What does the agent prepare for my team?

In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a draft plan for each deal that meets your targeting conditions. It opens with the customer’s date and the days to it, steps in the plan, steps agreed, and steps with no owner on the customer’s side. Then it gives each step with both owners, a target date, and its status and evidence, whether the CRM close date fits, and the questions to ask your champion. A version written for the champion is saved as a draft.

Will the agent share the plan without my approval?

No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. The champion’s version is saved as a draft for you to review, edit, and approve before Trig sends it. Your own dates stay marked as yours until the customer confirms them, and the plan recommends no price, discount, or concession.

What does the agent need access to?

The CRM deal with its close date and contacts, and the calls on the deal. Customer emails, documents the customer has shared on how they buy, and your team’s close plan template add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.

Can we change how the template works?

Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.

How long does it take to set up this template?

A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your deals in negotiation.
