Frequently asked questions.
What is an executive update agent?
It is a Trig agent set up to keep each strategic account’s executive sponsor informed. Agents can be fully customized to work based on your own unique account signals, conditions, and situations. In this configuration, the agent drafts an update email to the sponsor of each strategic account you own at 8:00 AM on the first working day of each month. The agent measures last month against the customer’s goals, adds one ask, and writes a risk note for you only.
How does Trig know what to put in each update?
Agents can be configured to read the customer’s stated goals and compare last month’s usage and goal measures with the three months before. In this template, each email reports up to three goals, at most two pieces of evidence, such as a resolved ticket or a milestone, next month’s dated plans, and one ask of the sponsor. Last month’s ask is repeated only if it went unanswered. With no stated goal, the email shows usage only and says so.
What does the agent prepare for my team?
In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a queue of update drafts for the strategic accounts that meet your targeting conditions. It opens with how many drafts were written and which need attention before sending. Each draft has a subject line and a plain email of 120 to 200 words, with every figure listed beneath it with its source and period. Beside each draft, a risk note for you covers usage, tickets waiting on your team, and a notice date in the next 90 days.
Will the agent email a sponsor without my approval?
No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. Each update is saved as a draft for you to review, edit, and approve before Trig sends it. The email leaves out health scores, prices, renewal terms, and anything from the risk note, and the agent suggests holding any draft for an account with an open escalation.
What does the agent need access to?
The CRM accounts marked strategic with their executive sponsors, monthly product usage for the last four months, and your sent email. Success plan goals, call transcripts, support tickets, release notes, and your calendar add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.
Can we change how the template works?
Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.
How long does it take to set up this template?
A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your strategic accounts each month.
