Frequently asked questions.
What is a renewal ownership agent?
It is a Trig agent set up to check that every renewal has one owner acting on it. Agents can be fully customized to work based on your own unique renewal ownership signals, conditions, and situations. In this configuration, the agent checks each renewal in scope every morning against the stages and owners your team has set. The agent flags stages with no owner acting, late handovers, two people working the same stage, and requests for more seats that never reached an account manager.
How does Trig know a renewal has no owner acting on it?
Agents can be configured to compare each renewal’s records with the stages, owners, and handover dates your team has set. In this template, a stage is flagged when nobody is assigned to the responsible role, or when the assigned owner has logged no activity on the renewal for seven days once the stage is due. A handover is late when its date passes with no record that it happened.
What does the agent prepare for my team?
In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a daily owner check for the renewals that meet your targeting conditions. It leads with the flag on the renewal closest to its notice date. Each flag gives its evidence with the source and date, and names the people on that renewal who need to act. A request for more seats is flagged when, 7 days later, there is still no expansion opportunity or account manager on record. A table lists every renewal in scope.
Will the agent reassign a renewal or contact the customer?
No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. In this template, the agent changes no owner or CRM field. It states each flag as a fact about the renewal and the renewal stages your team has set, and your team decides who owns each stage.
What does the agent need access to?
The stages, owners, and handover dates your team has set, and the CRM renewal records with owners, stages, notice dates, activity, and expansion opportunities. Call recordings, emails, and the calendar add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.
Can we change how the template works?
Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.
How long does it take to set up this template?
A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your team’s renewals.
