Frequently asked questions.
What is a renewals forecast agent?
It is a Trig agent set up to build your weekly renewals forecast. Agents can be fully customized to work based on your own unique forecast signals, conditions, and situations. In this configuration, the agent covers renewals due this quarter in detail and next quarter in summary, before each forecast call. The agent totals renewal value by month and category, keeps price increases on their own line, flags categories the evidence contradicts, and names the renewals that decide the number.
How does Trig find categories that disagree with the evidence?
Agents can be configured to compare each renewal’s forecast category with its readiness assessment. In this template, a renewal is flagged when the two are more than one step apart, such as Commit against At risk. Trig also flags a renewal due within 90 days with no assessment, a category untouched for more than 7 days, and a value that differs between the CRM and the contract.
What does the agent prepare for my team?
In this template, the agent is configured to deliver a one-page forecast for the renewals that meet your targeting conditions. It shows renewal value by month, by forecast category, and by readiness, with price increases as a separate line. It lists notice dates in the next 30 days, works out the quarter’s retention of existing revenue, excluding price increases, against your target, with its assumptions stated, and names up to three renewals that decide the number, each with an owner and a next step.
Will the agent change a forecast category or contact the customer?
No. Trig never contacts customers directly without express approval, which is controlled at the code level. In this template, the agent changes no forecast category or CRM field, and never estimates how likely a renewal is. It puts a question to the owner for each flag, and your team decides the number to submit.
What does the agent need access to?
The contract for each renewal, with its dates, value, and price increase, the CRM renewal records with forecast category and value, and the readiness assessment on record. Quote and signature status, forecast history, retention targets, and emails add useful additional context where available. In Trig, you choose which connected sources agents can read, and you approve whether each assignment may send messages or update records before it runs.
Can we change how the template works?
Yes. A template sets up the assignment: what to produce, which accounts it covers, when it runs, and which tools it can use. You review the plan before it runs, and you can edit its instructions, accounts, recipients, or timing at any time, or pause it.
How long does it take to set up this template?
A few clicks. Once the tools it reads from are connected to Trig, you can set up this template almost instantly, review its plan, and the agent starts work on your weekly renewals forecast.
